Design Optimization of Outer Rotor Toothed Doubly Salient Permanent Magnet Generator Using Symbiotic Organisms Search Algorithm

Wind turbine (WT) technology becomes more and important due to the serious environmental energy issues. The toothed poles outer rotor doubly salient permanent magnet (DSPM) generator with simple durable design, high torque high-power density has a great prospect in wind turbines application. large diameter makes construction of such machine convenient installation blades directly surface. Nevertheless, size must be increased provide larger output power. This increases generator’s mass. Thus, massive DSPM generators are undesirable design. In this paper, an optimization design procedure ORDSPMG is proposed for 10 kW WT reduction weight demonstrated proofed. considered version characterized by having same effective axial length imposed specifications relative direct drive WT. An using fast method, namely symbiotic organism search (SOS) algorithm coupled parametric two dimensional finite elements analysis (2D-FEA), employed optimize parameters. main parameters affecting also analyzed. results obtained reveal that topology presents low thus among other satisfactory characteristics.
